BNA endeavours to provide umpires for all BNA NSG GO, Saturday & Monday competitions.

Any umpiring enquiries are to be sent via an email to bunburynetball@live.com.au – Attention Umpires in the “subject” line.

Our Umpiring Academy (Foundation Umpire Program) has been divided into colour levels to create pathways.  We feel that umpiring is very much all about confidence and understanding of the rules. Each umpires’ knowledge and understanding develops at different rates, therefore we only feel that it is fair to allow someone to re-join a level until they feel they are ready to take the next step.

Adults that would like to umpire or learn to umpire should contact BNA to determine your umpire level.

GREEN SHIRT UMPIRE (GSU) PROGRAM

This is a beginners Umpiring Program for anyone (minimum 12yrs) who is wishing to learn how to umpire.

Green Shirt Umpires will attend theory sessions followed by the umpiring of a NSG GO game on a Saturday morning (commencing 11th May 2024).

The cost for this program is $70 which covers your registration fee and includes an umpiring pack (BNA pouch, rule book, personal whistle and umpiring shirt deposit). If you have completed a year of GSU and are not completely confident to progress to the Foundation Umpire Program, you can re-enrol in the Green Shirt Program again, but do not need to pay a registration fee unless you require another umpire pack.

Registration for GSU Program has closed for 2024.

If you have any questions about the Green Shirt Umpiring, please contact us via email: bunburynetball@live.com.au.

BADGED & WHITE SHIRT UMPIRE PROGRAM

Bunbury Netball Association is seeking interest from all badged and white shirt umpires to join our team this season.

Umpiring is suitable for all ages (12 and above) and fitness levels and is a great way to earn some money and give back to the netball community.

We will have some compulsory training sessions over the season which is a great way to brush up on your skills and knowledge and the association supplies a coach every Saturday so you are not alone!

Everyone welcome and questions are encouraged!

It is recommended that ALL umpires complete the online theory test via the Netball Australia’s ‘Netball Learning’ portal. https://learning.netball.com.au if you have not already done this. Click on the link and create a new account to register and participate in the umpiring theory tests and other umpire related courses available.

Stay tuned to our socials for further information on ways to access information about the Rules of Netball updates for 2024.

Any queries about Badged or White Shirt Umpiring can be directed to the BNA email – bunburynetball@live.com.au and our Umpiring Coordinator will get in touch with you.

UMPIRE ROSTER SYSTEM

The committee have put in strategies to help manage the playing, coaching and umpiring commitments of our junior and senior umpires.

BNA have a roster system in which umpires provide their availability each week and the AUDO ensures their commitments are integrated into this.

BNA UMPIRE UNIFORMS

BNA umpires have a choice of wearing a white skirt or a navy BNA skirt (with built in bike pants).  These are the only two skirts that can be worn, along with a white shirt or BNA umpiring shirt.  Any carnivals or special events will need to be umpired in a white skirt & top.

Green Shirt Umpires are required to wear the green shirt (provided by association) and a white skirt with built in shorts. If you need a white skirt, please see the Green Shirt Program sponsor INTERSPORT for all your sporting needs.
