Step one: Form your team and nominate through the online expression of interest form – click here to access. Only one nomination per team required. The person submitting this will be our main point of contact so we suggest a team manager or coach.
Team nominations close Tuesday 9th December 2025.
Step two: Upon receiving your nomination, BNA will send your main contact a PlayHQ registration link. This is unique to your team and should be used by all players in your team to register to the competition. Teams must have a minimum of 8 players registered and a maximum of 12 prior to PlayHQ Player Registration closing on Monday 26th January 2026.
Step three: Fixtures will be confirmed and available via PlayHQ no later than Wednesday 4th February 2026.
Game Times
Games will be scheduled from 4pm aiming for the last round of fixtures to start no later than 7pm. The timing of fixtures will depend on the number of teams who register in each grade.
COMPETITION RULES
The Summer Competition is played under the rules outlined in the International Netball Federation Rules of Netball 2024 Edition, unless otherwise stated including:
- Rolling substitutions are permitted from the inner edge of the team bench. The player must have left the court before their substitute enters.
Games will be centrally timed and consist of 4 x 10 minute quarters with 3 minutes at each break.
Umpires
Umpires will be provided by BNA. Fees for umpires are included in player registration.
Mixed Teams
There are to be no more than two (2) males playing on court at one time, spread evenly across the thirds. That is, a team cannot have a male playing in GS & GA OR GK & GD at the same time.
Scoring & Timing
The first mentioned team will need to collect the scorecard from the office and provide an adult to score. The second mentioned team will provide a back up scorer, who will stand with the main scorer, between the team benches, for the duration of the game. All games will be centrally timed. The winning team is to return the scorecard to the Office.
Late Arrivals
Players arriving late to the game will be able to take the court through the rolling subs if they were on the scorecard before the start of the game. Players who are not on the scorecard prior to the game starting are not able to play. Later players must ensure the umpire has checked nails and jewellery prior to taking the court.
Uniform
Teams are requested to wear the same coloured tops.
Fill in Players
Only players registered in the Summer Competition are eligible to fill in for other teams through the season. Players can play up or across into a same or higher age group/pool/division, but may not play down. On the 3rd time playing in a team they are not registered to, the fill in player must permanently move to the other team. Age eligibility requirements must be followed. Players are allowed to play a maximum of 2 games (total) per round (ie, their own game and a fill in game).
Game Equipment
- Bibs: Teams are encouraged to supply their own bibs. A small number of sets will be available from the BNA office to be borrowed pre-match and returned post match.
- Ball: A game ball will be provided for each match. Teams are required to bring a ball for any warm up activities.
